A different kind of sequence

A few details help explain this feature. Four complete King-to-Ace runs clear the game. Moves build down in the same suit rather than allowing cross-suit destinations. Scorpion on sxstxww.com uses one 52-card deck with four suits. The tableau has seven columns.

Read the opening cards

A few details help explain this feature. All cards in the last three columns are face up. The first three cards in each of the first four columns are face down. Each opening column contains seven cards for a total of 49 tableau cards. Three cards remain in the stock.

Build in the same suit

A seven of hearts can land on an exposed eight of hearts. A moved group's leading card must land on a card exactly one rank higher in the same suit. A seven of hearts cannot land on an eight of spades. A King cannot land on another card because no higher rank exists.

Move exposed groups

A few details help explain this feature. Any face-up card can be selected together with every card beneath it. The selected cards do not need to descend in rank to travel together. The leading selected card still has to meet the destination rule. The selected cards do not need to share a suit to travel together.

The empty-column rule

A few details help explain this feature. An empty column is therefore less flexible than an empty column in ordinary Spider. A group led by a lower rank cannot enter an empty column. Cards beneath a moved King do not need to be in sequence. An empty column accepts a King or a group led by a King.

Uncover another choice

The next hidden card is revealed automatically. Removing all face-up cards above a hidden card turns that hidden card face up. Undo restores the earlier hidden-card arrangement when the move is reversed. An exposed card can carry the cards beneath it when its own destination is legal.

The final three cards

The following details apply here. The stock contains one final deal of three cards. This Scorpion version permits its stock deal when columns are empty. Dealing places a face-up card on each of the first three columns. There are no further stock cards after the three-card deal.

Complete a suit

Keep these points in mind. All thirteen cards in a collected run must be face up. The game removes a qualifying run automatically from the bottom of a column. A completed run must descend from King to Ace in one suit. Moving an unordered group does not make that group a completed sequence.

Plan around blocked cards

Here are the details for this mode. Hint lists legal choices without promising a winning continuation. Checking the whole moved group helps you anticipate what will become blocked. Replay and Undo let you explore another approach to the same layout. A move can carry unwanted cards along with a useful leading card.

Your separate local record

A few details help explain this feature. Scorpion keeps a separate saved position when game saving is enabled. My Statistics records Scorpion starts and wins separately from other variants. Random Scorpion shuffles are not advertised as guaranteed winnable. Privacy & Cookie Settings lets you remove local saved games and results.
